Downton Abbey’s Michelle Dockery donates her Prada dress from the Emmy Awards

Downton Abbey’s Michelle Dockery is deciding to help the victims of the civil war in Syria. Dockery has donated her Prada dress from the last year’s Emmy Awards.

The dress has a red halter-style top and a burgundy skirt. All of the proceeds will go to the humanitarian organization, Oxfam. Oxfam is a charitable organization whose mission is to change the world by lifting people out of poverty. Oxfam works with partner organizations in more than 90 countries around the world.

Dockery’s Emmy Awards gown could bring in between 3,000 pounds and 5,000 pounds when buyers bid at Christie’s on June 20. She told the Associated Press that she hopes that the buyer, “will get as much pleasure from it as I did when I wore it to the Emmy awards and that we can raise as much money as possible to support the Syrian people."

Last year, Dockery took the time to visit a Syrian refugee camp. Dockery plays Lady Mary in Downton Abbey. According to The Huffington Post, Downton Abbey, the costume drama that shoots on location in Oxfordshire, will return in September.
