Florida middle-school student plotted to kill five teachers, self

Authorities said a sixth-grader allegedly plotted to kill himself and five staffers at East Ridge Middle School in Clermont, Florida.

According to the Orlando-Sentinel, the student, who brought a knife to school on May 19, gave police a notebook which outlined where and how he would kill the teachers.

BayNews9 reported that the student drew a map of the school in the notebook and at least one page of the book was covered in blood.

The unidentified student allegedly told investigators that he planned to carry out the murders before killing himself in the cafeteria in front of his peers.

Officials said that the boy was recently suspended from the school for several days, but did not say why. After the incident, he was sent to a psychiatric facility for an evaluation.

No other weapons were found on the boy or at his home and it is not clear what charges he will face, if any.

Clermont is located about 25 miles west of Orlando.
