Sofia Vergara has confirmed that her engagement to Nick Loeb has been called off, citing their busy schedules as the reason for the split, but reports are now surfacing that the Modern Family star and CoverGirl spokeswoman was embarrassed by her ex-fiance.
Sources close to the former couple say that Loeb tried to take advantage of Vergara’s rising fame and use it towards his own business ventures. He also reportedly tried to use her connections as a way to launch his own acting career.
"It really embarrassed Sofia," an insider told Us Weekly. "He desperately wanted her to use her star power to launch his acting career. He made her look like a fool."
Loeb reportedly auditioned for a part in her film with Reese Witherspoon Don’t Mess With Texas behind her back when she wouldn’t get a part for him.
Vergara, 41, announced their split earlier this week, writing on Twitter and WhoSay, “We have [been] having too many problems with figuring out how to spend time together because of my work and now his, it's been getting worse and worse, not fun anymore.”
