Rakesh Agrawal just brought “disgruntled employee” to the 21st Century. Going on a Twitter frenzy, Agrawal launched a tirade of sorts bashing fellow employees, and upper management, leaving nothing in his path…except his pink slip.
According to the New York Daily News, Agrawal, who was only hired two months ago as the Director of Strategy, sent a cavalcade of post on his Twitter feed during the late hours of Saturday, after boozing it up at the New Orleans Jazz Festival. Many were directed at PayPal Vice President of Global Communications, Christina Smedley, where he called her a “piece of s—t” and a “useless middle manager.”
Of course all the posting were deleted but Buzzfeed was able to capture a few before they were taken down, like one’s directed at Foursquare founder Dennis Crowley stating in drunken text that he could make Foursquare a $50 billion dollar company.
Agrawal was quickly fired from PayPal, who also took to Twitter to announce the news. Let this be a lesson to everyone, don’t drink and Tweet.
Rakesh Agrawal is no longer with the company. Treat everyone with respect. No excuses. PayPal has zero tolerance.
