Psy’s 2012 hit “Gangnam Style” is continuing to make waves, now setting the YouTube record for a whopping 2 billion views. He broke his own record of passing the 1 billion mark, so now he’s achieving yet another milestone in his career.
In a statement, he said "2 billion views...they are very honorable and very burdensome numbers. With appreciation, I will come back soon with more joyful contents!!"
According to Billboard, Psy already holds the record for most viewed YouTube video of all time; he’s just taking it to new heights.
The K-pop singer proved he has staying power, as his single “Gentlemen” broke a record for getting 22 million views in just 24 hours. “Gentlemen” beat Justin Bieber’s record for “Boyfriend,” which saw 5 million views in its first 24 hours.
Bieber’s “Baby” is the only other video to reach the billion mark on YouTube, to date garnering 1.04 billion views.
YouTube celebrated the milestone by making little dancing figures of Psy next to the 2 billion number.
