Young actress Quvenzhane Wallis made a name for herself in 2012 as the star of Beasts of the Southern Wild and now she is hoping to blaze a trail in the fashion industry. The Annie star has just been named the face of Armani Junior.
Wallis, 10, earned praise from Giorgio Armani, who told The Hollywood Reporter that she is talented beyond her age.
“Her kindness, curiosity and openness toward others really struck me, as they are all traits I admire. It is for this very reason that I wanted her to be the face of Armani Junior,” Armani explained. “With her insatiable energy, Quvenzhane made the clothing come alive, interpreting it in her own singular way.”
Wallis compared the excitement to getting a role in a major movie. She said she met Armani after his Prive show in New York recently and she found him to be “such a nice man.”

She added, “I liked that that he was so thoughtful. It's fun to wear Armani Junior since I really like the clothes. It's young. It's cool. My friends are going to want to borrow all my clothes.”
Wallis and Armani do have a history together. As E! News notes, she wore an Armani navy tulle gown at the 2013 Oscars, where she was up for Best Actress.
Wallis has already appeared in two Best Picture nominees - Beasts and the 2014 winner, 12 Years A Slave. She stars in the Annie remake as the title character, along with Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx. The movie opens on Christmas Day.
