Taylor Swift cancels Thailand concert following political unrest

Worldwide country music superstar, Taylor Swift has cancelled her sold-out show in Thailand. The show was cancelled due to political unrest in the country. Thailand recently came under military rule last week after a coup d'etat.This would have been the first time that Swift had performed in Thailand.

Billboard reported that concert promoter BEC-Tero released a statement regarding the cancellation saying that this decision was made "due to recent events in Thailand." The statement did add that this was a difficult decision for all parties involved.

The show would have been taking place on the night of June 9th. The entire country of Thailand is under a nighttime curfew even though it is not fully being enforced, USA Today added.

Swift tweeted that she was sad to have to cancel the show and that she loves all of her fans.

Swift is planning to continue on with her shows on the Red tour which is currently in Asia, the rest of the stops on this portion of the tour are already sold out. This is the last leg of the Red tour which has sold out stadiums all across the world.
