Molly Schuyler of Nebraska set a record for eating an entire 72-ounce steak in less than five minutes. She then polished off a second steak in under nine minutes.
The Amarillo-Globe News reported that Schuyler devoured the two meals at The Big Texan Steak Ranch in 14 minutes, 57 seconds. The previous record set by competitive eating champion Joey Chestnut was just under nine minutes for one meal.
“We witnessed history,” Big Texan co-owner Danny Lee said. “If there’s a zombie apocalypse, I want to stay away from this girl.”
The steak dinners came complete with a salad, a roll, a side of shrimp and a baked potato, which she finished as well.
The mother of four gained notoriety in January when she competed in a chicken wing eating contest in Philadelphia known as Wing Bowl.
In that contest, Schuyler set another record when she ate 363 wings. That amount smashed the previous record of 337 wings held by international competitive eating extraordinaire Takeru Kobayashi.
The 5 foot 7 Schuyler, who weighs between 120-125 pounds, said that her next challenge is to return to the restaurant and take down three steak dinners.
