The seventh annual Sunset Strip Festival line-up has been announced with headliners Jane’s Addiction, who began their near 30 year career playing on the Strip, along with second day headliners Empire the Sun. Mayer Hawthorne, Cold War Kids, and Crosses among several others will be openers for the two-day festival.
The announcement of the line-up came Monday morning on the festival website noting dates September 20 and 21, with Jane’s Addiction headlining the first day, and playing their entire album Nothing’s Shocking in its entirety, and Empire The Sun headlining the day after.
Jane’s Addiction have been celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album by playing the album in full in recent shows in Las Vegas and also announced playing the album in upcoming dates in England.
The Hollywood Reporter also noted the “Jane Says” hit-makers will also be honored with the Elmer Valentine Award, named after co-founder of legendary Sunset Strip venues The Whiskey A-Go-Go, The Roxy, and The Rainbow Bar and Grill. The award presentation will take place at an invite-only event at the House of Blues in the Strip on September 19. Past recipients include Lou Adler, Ozzy Osbourne, Slash, The Doors, and Joan Jett.
Tickets for the event are already on sale on Eventbrite with tickets for a two day pass ranging from $125 to $499, and single day passes from $75 to $149.
