Klay Thompson For Kevin Love?

Now it’s starting to get interesting. With the NBA draft just weeks away, the Kevin Love sweepstakes continues to heat up with each passing day, and the willingness of the Golden State Warriors to put Klay Thompson, their star in the making shooting guard, on the table in the league-wide quest to acquire franchise cornerstone Kevin Love from the Minnesota Timberwolves, serves as proof of this.
In addition to Klay Thompson, USAToday.com reports that Minnesota proposed a deal that would also bring power forward David Lee, a solid player in his own right, to the Land of Ten Thousand Lakes, and a first round pick as well. Golden State would also receive sharpshooting guard Kevin Martin if the current deal in place comes to fruition.
Per stats provided by NBA.com, Thompson and Lee both averaged around 18 points a game and Lee for a Warriors team that won 51 games last season, and Lee pulled down nearly 10 boards per contest as well.
Kevin Martin scored 19 points per game for a Timberwolves team that struggled to stay afloat in the ultra competitive Western Conference playoff race.
More than half of the league would love to make Love apart of their long-term plans. So there certainly isn’t a shortage of offers pouring into Minnesota’s front office. And as far as procuring the most advantageous one goes, the Timberwolves could certainly do worse than pulling the Golden State trigger.
