In a shocking surprise her album did not go number one on the charts like a lot of her past albums have for first week sales. Her album was number three on the charts. Although it did not reach number one status, her newest album titled Me. I Am Mariah…The Exclusive Chanteuse was in the top 10 selling albums. Carrey has had an album reach in the top 10 in sales an astonishing 17 times.
It has been almost five years since her last release of an album called Memories of an Imperfect Angel. It is the longest period of time Carey waited to release an album besides her Christmas albums, according to Billboard.
The superstar diva has an extensive catalog of albums that have gone number one on the charts. She has had six albums debuted at number one with sales above the 100,000(or 200,000, or 300,000) mark in her legendary career, reported by MTV News.
