Go back in time and watch Tina Fey and Rachel Dratch’s ‘Dratch & Fey’

Every once in a while the internet can help recover old gems that we always thought were lost. Recently, the internet brought back Dratch & Fey featuring both Rachel Dratch and Tina Fey. Before the two became big on Saturday Night Live, they were struggling comedians that took what was an accident and turned it into a show.

This 1999 show starred Fey and Dratch putting on humorous sketches much like SNL. Somehow, the two booked the Second City stage in Chicago for the same time but that didn’t stop them, instead, they performed their own shows together according to Rolling Stone. The show ran for about a year and also took place in New York. Dratch played a woman’s rights pioneer named Edwina Garth Burnham while Fey’s character explored her sexuality says Time.

At this point in their lives, Dratch recently joined SNL while Fey has been on the writing staff for two years and was now their lead writer. Both of them have come a long way from this show, however, it is still worth watching for the laughs. Thank you internet!
