Mary J. Blige is known for her powerful voice and sultry R&B ballads that have been playing on the airwaves for over two decades.
This New York born singer has released 11 albums since 1992 including a Christmas album called A Very Mary Christmas. Blige’s legacies include being known as one of the worlds best R&B artists along with winning nine Grammy’s – after being nominated for 30, overall.
Earlier this week marked the 22nd anniversary of the release of the 42-year-old’s first album, What’s the 411?.
The album was released on July 28, 1992 and produced six singles. Because she combined both styles of hip-hop and soul, she became known as the queen of the genre and followed through with her title to this day.
