In between a wardrobe malfunction and a showstopping performance from our Queen overlord, MTV had to hand out a few moonmen during last night’s 2014 Video Music Awards. Of course, the star of the night, Beyonce Knowles, won the most for any single artist, but Miley Cyrus capped off an impressive year by winning Video of the Year.
Beyonce, who also took home the Vanguard Award for her career, won for Best Collaboration for “Drunk in Love” with husband Jay Z. The couple appeared to put any rumors of a divorce to rest by sharing the stage with their daughter, Blue Ivy, when she picked up the award.
Beyonce’s “Pretty Hurts” also won Best Video with a Social Message and Best Cinematography for Darren Lew and Jackson Hunt’s work.
Aside from awards, Miley Cyrus got a homeless teen to accept her award for Video of the Year in an effort to raise awareness for youth homelessness. During her opening performance, Nicki Minaj also suffered a wardrobe malfunction, as she performed “Anaconda” and “Bang Bang.”
