Suspected killer Shane Miller’s skeleton found

Remains found along the northern California coast are suspected to belong to Shane Miller, who murdered his wife and children in 2012.

An anonymous person found the remains alongside the Mattole River on Friday. Dental records confirmed the skeleton was indeed the 45-year-old who was wanted on murder charges since last year, reported the New York Daily News.

Miller’s wife, Sandy Miller, and their two children, Shelby and Shatas, ages 8 and 5, were found dead. Before their murder, Sandy Miller checked her and the children into a women’s shelter.She told the staff she was choked by her husband, who threatened to kill her and the children.

Detectives became involved after the remains were found near to where Miller abandoned his truck and vanished. They believe Miller’s death may have been a suicide.

According to the Associated Press, investigators believed Miller was familiar with the wilderness because he was armed with a gun at the time of his disappearance. The area was searched with dogs, but there was no trace of Miller found.
