Top 10 worst dressed at the 2014 Emmys

With every great award ceremony comes great fashion. However, not everyone can join in on the yes list.

At this year’s 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, fans were extremely disappointed – and slightly disturbed – at what some of the stars sported on the red carpets.

Whether it was too much of one color or an awkwardly unflattering ensemble, TheCelebrityCafe.com sat down and looked through the dozens of actresses who walked the red carpet at Monday’s award ceremony.

It was hard to pick just 10 of the worst dressed.

Many of the ladies who made this year’s worst dressed list usually succeed in the best-dressed category… what happened this time around? Stars like Kristen Wig and Gwen Stefani usually kill the competition with their style but sadly this year we were unimpressed.

We’re counting down our top 10 worst looks at the Emmy’s and who we think could have done better.

Who do you think was the overall worst dressed at this year’s Emmy Awards? Who do you think could have stepped up their game?

10. Gwen Stefani

We don’t really know what’s going on with the lead singer of No Doubt’s outfit. Usually the L.A.M.B designer shocks us but this futuristic silver two piece dress just didn’t wow us this time.

9. Kristen Wiig

The former SNL star looks stunning while walking the red carpet. However, this year she disappointed us with black heels and a white gown that just didn’t look form fitting at all.

8. Teyonah Parris

There is just way too much going on here. The dress would have looked better without the giant train in the back. Maybe next time, Teyonah.

7. Kaley Cuoco

This The Big Bang Theory star chose a dress that just didn’t flatter her at all. The hot pink ruffles make her look short and remind us of a dreaded 80s prom dress.

6. Keltie Knight

The Insider star didn’t impress us with her multi detailed, two toned dress. The top part of the dress was a gothic lace piece but was paired with an ivory white dress covered in sparkles. Too much was going on here and we think she should have just stayed simple.

5. Camila Alves

As she stood next to Matthew McConaughey, her dress was too see-through for our liking. This all white lace piece had good intention but just didn’t look right on the star. Perhaps if she paired it with the right accessories and more defined hair, we might have liked it better.

[ new page = Kate Walsh ]

4. Kate Walsh

We weren’t fans of Kate Walsh’s yellow peplum gown this year. The bright yellow dress fit her well but was just way too bright on the red carpet. A softer yellow would have been more flattering.

[ new page = Taryn Manning ]

3. Taryn Manning

Taryn’s dress this year made the number three spot on the worst dressed list because of its shiny, metallic fabric. The color wasn’t bright but extremely dull and the awkward sweetheart cut didn’t match the really long slit in the front. We also think nude heels would have looked better than the black pumps she decided on instead.

2. Claire Danes

We have no idea what’s going on with this gown but there’s an open lace midriff with a belt going across it. It just doesn’t add up.

[ new page = Lena Dunham ]

1. Lena Dunham

The Girls star usually pulls it together at award ceremonies but this time, we have no idea what is going on. We don’t know if we dislike the button down top more or the ruffled upon ruffled bottom consisting of every shade of pink there is in the crayon box. C’mon Lena, we expect better next time!
