The Voice coach just can’t quit! Adam Levine is set to produce a comedy series for the peacock network that is loosely based on his life.
The show, called Kids in America, is set in the 1990s and focuses on Levine’s life and his beginnings in the music industry. The show centers on an unconventional family through the eyes of a teenager who has dreams of becoming a rock star, reports Deadline.
Aaron Blitzstein of Family Guy fame will write the script and in addition to Levine producing, his manager, Jordan Feldstein will also produce the show.
This news comes just after Levine announced another scripted comedy that he will be producing alongside Feldstein. According to Just Jared, the other series is also based on parts of Levine’s early start in music; this time focusing on his relationship with his best friend Gene Hong, who is a writer and producer. Hong is slated to write the pilot of the series.
There’s no official word on when either show is due to premiere, but the Maroon 5 frontman has been busy all year - between new music, coaching on The Voice, and marrying his love, model Behati Prinsloo in July.
Now he can add comedy show producer to his list, but for now fans can catch Levine on NBC when Season 7 of The Voice premieres Sept. 22.
