"Zachary Quinto, who portrays the iconic half-human, half-Vulcan Spock in 2009's Star Trek and 2013's Stark Trek Into Darkness, has said that the third film of the series could start shooting within six months.
As reported by IGN, Quinto said ""I think it’s on the horizon [...] things are rumbling, so I have a feeling that we will be in production sometime in the next six months.""
Quinto let the cat out of the bag to Today while talking about his new documentary series called The Chair, of which he is one of the producers.
The 37-year-old actor, whose other credits include Sylar on Heroes and roles in both American Horror Story: Murder House and AHS: Asylum, has received great praise for his portrayal of Spock, who has been famously portrayed by Leonard Nimoy since 1966.
One thing that this third Star Trek film will be missing however, is the director from the first two films, J.J. Abrams. Abrams is hard at work directing the long-awaited Star Wars: Episode VII, scheduled to be released in late 2015.
The film will instead be directed by Richard Orci, who helped Abrams and Alex Kurtzman write the first two films. Xposé wrote that Orci confirmed an initial draft of the script has already been completed.
