HBO Go finally makes its way to Xbox One, PS4 owners still waiting

The HBO Go application has finally made its way to next generation consoles starting with the Xbox One.

Gamers have been waiting patiently for the premium cable channel to be accessible on their next generation consoles. Although Xbox One owners can now access shows like Game of Thrones and Curb Your Enthusiasm from their console, PlayStation 4 owners are still waiting.

“Xbox is one of our subscribers’ favorite ways to access HBO GO and its incredible breadth of award-winning programming,” HBO executive Jeff Dallesandro said onXbox Wire. “Now, Xbox One users can get in on the action and Kinect with the very best HBO series and films on this innovative, state-of-the-art device.”

By using the Kinect, gamers can use voice control or hand motions which are captured by the device to select which shows or movies to watch and allows for a different selection experience.

Accessing HBO Go on video game consoles is a great alternative for families that want to share their HBO subscription. Right now, consumers can only purchase an HBO subscription through cable companies.

The release of the application for the Xbox One comes at a great time considering HBO announced that they will soon be putting together an individual HBO subscription package rumored to be priced at $15 a month, according to CNET.
