Jimi Hendrix demo 'Hear My Music' gets Record Store Day release

For those who find themselves rummaging through old boxes of vinyl, constantly collecting records both innovative and ancient and especially looking forward to Record Store Day on the November 28th, Young Jimy fans are in for a treat.

Rare instrumental studio recordings by none other than Jimi Hendrix will be released in the form of 11 tracks on a double LP titled Hear My Music.

The “official bootleg” recordings were primarily created in 1969, a year before his passing, as solo demos and freestyle jam sessions with the Jimi Hendrix Experience, reports Rolling Stone

Janie Hendrix, the guitar idol’s sister, acted as the producer for the double LP with help from Hendrix enthusiast John McDermott and renowned engineer, Eddie Kramer, according to Music Times

The LP includes two adaptations of “Valleys of Neptune” which spotlight his piano talents on one track and showcase his endless expertise with the electric guitar on the other— a genuine pioneer.

The “bootleg” recordings on Hear My Music will be pressed on a 200-gram audiophile vinyl and released by Dagger Records, a label particularly known for online purchases only—this isn’t a record to miss out on.
