With its Christmas day release, Unbroken not only touched the hearts of thousands across the country but it also made Angelina Jolie a better person.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actress-turned-director said that meeting Louis Zamberini and telling his story pushed her to change her life.

“I learned to be a better person. I learned to be more open to my fellow man, to understanding, to seeing the other side,” she said.
“I learned that when you have hate and anger and you let it eat you up, it’s only hurting you – it doesn’t hurt your enemy.”
Jolie directed the film about the late Olympian and World War II hero who died just this past year on July 2.
“When Louis had an obstacle, no matter what it was, he thought, ‘Fantastic. I’m not going to be broken.’ And broken is not about losing the war. Broken is not about failing. Broken is about losing your heart and losing sense of who you are and letting life take you off track or make you dark,” she added.
Unbroken topped the box office when it opened Christmas day, Forbes reports.
