Emma Stone jokes about not knowing Meryl Streep

Even when Emma Stone gets nominated for an honorary award, she still keeps her sparky sense of humor.

The nominations for the upcoming Screen Actors Guild Awards were revealed early on Wednesday and the 26-year-old actress was excited and honored to be acknowledged.

In a statement to ABC News, Stone said, “This is a huge honor and I’m pretty much stunned. To be in a category with three women I respect so much – and one I’ve never heard of but I’m sure is also great (Meryl Streep?) – is just incredible.”

The Birdman star was nominated alongside Streep, Patricia Arquette, Keira Knightley and Naomi Watts for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role.

Along with Stone’s nomination for her supporting role as a supporting actress, actors including Ethan Hawke, Robert Duvall, Edward Norton, Mark Ruffalo and J.K. Simmons were nominated with their roles for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role.

The SAG Awards will air on Sunday, Jan. 25 on TNT and TBS.
