North Korea denies being behind Sony Pictures hacking

With the latest Sony Pictures hacking, and North Korea's disproving of the studio's releasing of their new comedy The Interview, many believe the country is behind the attack as a threat against the company. More than a week after the rumors began, however, North Korea has spoken out and denied their involvement.

The country's response comes from Variety. Although a spokesperson for North Korea's United Nations delegations didn't outright deny their involvement last week to BBC News, providing the cryptic response, "The hostile forces are relating everything to the DPRK (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the official name of North Korea). I kindly advise you to just wait and see," when asked if they were involved, a North Korea official is denying any involvement with the attacks.

The hacks have lead to several new Sony films, including Annie, Mr Turner, Still Alice and Fury, to name a few, online prematurely as well as the salaries of Seth Rogen and James Franco in The Interview.

At the moment, Sony and the FBI are investigating the hack with other law enforcements and private security firms.

“Sony Pictures continues to work through issues related to what was clearly a cyber attack last week. The company has restored a number of important services to ensure ongoing business continuity and is working closely with law enforcement officials to investigate the matter," a Sony representative said Monday.

The Interview is set to hit theaters on December 25.
