Singer-songwriter, Rachael Sage has released her latest musical effort Blue Roses.
The album opens with the track "English Tea." The song builds as it goes on with both instrumentals and her vocal delivery. The opening track and the album has a pop sound to it but the instrumentals that have been chose make the album sound different and more complex than normal pop music today. The album showcases Sage's musical talent, guitar playing and soulful sound.
Sage started out in the music industry touring night after night and how she is one of the busiest touring artists in independent music today. She plays over 100 dates a year with her band The Sequins and has played in venues all throughout the United States, Asia, Europe and the U.K.
It was her strong vocal range and soulful sound that has attracted fans to her music. This independent release from Sage highlights all of those unique talents and brings them together in natural and organic way.
Sage has a very similar to that of famous females from the 90s who topped the charts like Alanis Morissette
and Natalie Imbruglia. Sage has the same kind of harsh yet complex tone that really highlights her vocal delivery. When she sings it is impactful along with being highly catchy. Fans of Morissette or Imburglia should give Sage a change musically.
Blue Roses feels like it could have been a hit in the 90s but also works well today in the current musical landscape. Sage isn't afraid to embrace what makes her unique and picks instruments that really help to fill out her vocal range and highlight her songwriting and lyrics.
Stand out tracks on the album include, "Used To Be My Girl," "Not Leaving You," and "Wax."
Sage recently released the music video for her single, "Wax."
