'Sentient' pilot premiere at Eclipse Lounge in Pittsburgh, PA

On December 18th, Sentient, the upcoming sci-fi action thriller show in the same vein as the original Alien, made its official pilot premiere at the Eclipse Lounge in Pittsburgh, PA.

Sponsored by Clique Vodka and featuring My Sounds Wireless, The Trust Franklin Press Co. and Mr. Sign, the invite-only red-carpet premiere found the cast & crew gathered around for casual conversations, drinks, trivia, prizes and, of course, a screening of the pilot. While the show is still in the midst of finding a cable distributor — with the pilot being the only episode shot and completed so far — plans are already in place to earning a cable distributor. Writing on the next line of episodes is also currently in motion.

With a stern focus on what the show will become, the enthusiastic producers, stars and directors of the series lined-up one by one to speak before the episode's official presentation. The words "future," "journey" and "beginning" were thrown liberally around that evening, and one section of the night even found the actors receiving prizes foreshadowing their characters' action in the plots to come.

Starring Wren McKean, Kay Rhodes, Erin Berger, Parris Knight, Randy Leonhard, Jessica David, Tom Mirth, Dave Petti, Aless Hanna, Tamira Wilson, Joe Puglisi, Chris Bondi, Vincent Bombara, Nathan Hollabaugh, Benjamin Sheeler, Ryan Munshower and more, Sentient centers on a group of doctors who, when taking a sabbatical into the Canadian Rockies, stumble upon a contagious virus that's lethal, self-aware and highly irritable. The pilot was directed by Mark Cross and written by Cross and Douglas Jones. While the show contains many similarities to the aforementioned Alien, the horror-comedy tone of the pilot suggested it being equally in line with cult-favorite films like Severence.

Right now, viewers can get a glimpse of the upcoming show on Vimeo on Demand. Vimeo also hosts a teaser of the show, which can be seen below:
