The 70-minute off-Broadway show, “Grounded,” is about a fighter pilot who becomes pregnant. When she finds out that she is expecting she gets reassigned to the “Chair Force” where she takes out targets by a remote-controlled drone. It takes place in Nevada at an Air Force base and stars solely Hathaway.
Tribune reports that the Public Theater said that the play explores “the complicated consequences of waging war without leaving home.”
“Grounded” will be shown at the Public Theater and is directed by Julie Taymor, mostly known for her staging of “The Lion King” and “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.”
Previews for the show will begin April 7 and will run from April 23 to May 17.
This is not the first time Hathaway as performed on the live stage. She participated in “Twelfth Night” in Central Park and also won an Oscar for her role in Les Miserable based on the famous musical.
