Elle Fanning to lead 'The Neon Demon', from 'Drive' director Nicolas Winding Refn

At a mere 16-years-old, Elle Fanning has gone well beyond being known simply as Dakota's little sister. In fact, Elle is now among the most demanded young actresses working today. While she has a number of different projects to star in, she's added another to her list, as she's to lead Nicolas Winding Refn's The Neon Demon.

As The Wrap revealed, Fanning plays an aspiring model caught inside a world of beauty and demise. She joins an undisclosed all-female cast in this new horror film from the director of Drive.

“Elle Fanning is a super cool wonder woman and I look forward to going on a terrifying trip with her into The Neon Demon," Refn said to The Wrap.

Refn also confirmed the casting on his Twitter, when he sent the following tweet:

Refn, in addition to directing, also wrote the movie with first-timer Mary Laws and produces alongside his long-time producer partner Lene Borglum, under their banner Space Rocket. He announced the movie as his next film, under its original title I Walk with the Dead back in June. The new horror film is set to start production in March in Los Angeles.

Fanning, last seen in Maleficent, Low Down, Young Ones and heard in The Boxtrolls, will next star in Trumbo alongside Bryan Cranston. She also will soon be seen in Three Generations. She is also soon set to appear in John Cameron Mitchell's next How to Talk to Girls at Parties and in Ben Affleck's Live By Night.
