The single-camera comedy will be based on the singer’s back-to-college experiences and is said to be called DeTour.

Steve Franks, better known for creating Psych is writing the script for the show which will be about a middle aged rock star who takes a break from his band to go back to college.

Cuomo intermittently attended Harvard from 1995 to 2006 where he majored in English and joined Phi Beta Kappa.

According to Hollywood Reporter, college is where Cuomo also met his wife and lived in the dorms.

The sitcom is said to revolve around all that Cuomo went through when he returned to school including the character’s he met while he was there.

Cuomo is also going to help produce the show.

Along with heading to the TV, Weezer’s next album, Everything Will Be Alright In the End will be out Oct. 7.
