Technology is a beautiful thing. It often allows us an inside glimpse to the biggest controversies in the world, and today we received a little insight about the controversial pass interference reversal which occurred this past Sunday.
During the last game of the weekend, an NFC Wild Card matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Detroit Lions, there was a controversial reversal of a pass interference call made by the officials.
It gift-wrapped the Cowboys a victory and turned the entire sports media world into a talking buzz.
On the latest version of Inside the NFL which airs on Showtime, Lions quarterback Matt Stafford was mic'd up, which couldn't be more perfect.
Stafford repeatedly says "unbelievable" in reference to the picked up flag as he voices his displeasure over and over.
“That’s unbelievable . . . and you know it,” Stafford said to an official on the sidelines according to CBS Sports. “You know it is, though . . . How does that get overturned? . . . Congratulations. It’s unbelievable.”
“Can we explain that or no? Just flat-out overturning a pass interference call?” An official then mentioned face guarding to Stafford, and the quarterback responded: “I understand, but your man saw it and threw a penalty. ... I understand that. ... But I’ve never in the history seen one turned over. Congratulations, man. First time in history that’s happened," Stafford also said after the play.
We also heard from Lions wide-receiver Calvin Johnson and Cowboys corner-back Orlando Scandrick.
Regardless of the chatter from either city, and there's still plenty going going on even on Wednesday, the game is over and Dallas has moved on. While the Lions sit home the Cowboys will travel to Green Bay to take on the Packers in the Divisional Round this weekend.
