Paramount picks another Friday the 13th to release 'Friday the 13th' reboot, moves new 'Paranormal Activity'

Paramount decided that it needed a different Friday the 13th to release its new Friday The 13th movie on. The film has been pushed all the way to May 2016.

The studio’s first date for the movie was March 13, 2015, but then they decided to move it to Nov. 13, 2015. Now, as Box Office Mojo’s schedule shows, the movie will not be released until May 13, 2016.

Friday the 13th is expected to be yet another reboot for the franchise, which was rebooted unsuccessfully in 2009. V/H/S director David Bruckner is helping the project. The studio is also reportedly working on a TV series.

Paramount has also rescheduled another horror film. The latest installment in the Paranormal Activity franchise, The Ghost Dimension, will be released on Oct. 23, 2015 instead of March 13, 2015.

The latest film in the Ring series, Rings, will be out on Nov. 13, 2015.

Monster Trucks has been shifted from May 29, 2015 to Dec. 25, 2015. Paramount made that move so it has something to release on Christmas Day after it pushed Mission: Impossible 5 up to July 31.
