Jennifer Aniston recently confessed to losing her first love to brain cancer, even before she married and divorced Brad Pitt and got engaged to Justin Theroux.
In an interview with the New York Times, the Cake star – who did not get nominated – Aniston confessed, “He would have been the one. But I was 25, and I was stupid. He must have sent me Justin to make up for it all.”
She never revealed his identity but now his widow, Mujah Maraini-Melehi, is criticizing her for bringing “uninvited attention” to her late husband, actor Daniel McDonald.
"I am sorry that Jennifer did not realize the treasure that was Daniel when she had the chance, long before he and I met and long before he died,” she told Inside Edition. “It pains me to read the headlines that allude to her losing him tragically when in fact she was not present during his long and difficult illness."
Maraini-Melehi, who has two children with McDonald (Law & Order, All My Children, Sex and the City), continued to say "Perhaps Daniel’s gift was to teach her how to love, and to appreciate what she has with [fiancé] Justin Theroux.”
“Those of us who knew Daniel well can assure you that he would not have approved of all this uninvited attention due to his past relationship to Jennifer. I lost my husband. My children lost their father,” she concluded.
McDonald passed away in 2007 at the age of 46.
