If you are a fan of the lip smacker lip gloss then you may be saddened by the news that Bonne Bell Company has reached an agreement to sell the lip smacker lip gloss.
Bonne Bell Company is in its third generation of family leadership. Jesse Bell started the cosmetic company in 1927 and named it after his daughter. Lip Smacker, created in 1973, was the world's first flavored lip gloss.
Mayor Dennis Clough of Westlake, OH, confirmed with 19 Action News that Bonnie Bell is closing its doors on March 29th. He received a fax from the company on Thursday with the news.
Markwins International will be the new owner and is also the owner of several successful brands in North America, including Wet n Wild.
Aspire Brands, the distribution affiliate for Bonne Bell, will continue to distribute Lip Smackers in Europe, Australia and Asia.
"They will bring the same excitement and innovation to the Lip Smacker and Bonne Bell brands. I am excited about the future of the Lip Smacker and Bonne Bell brands under Markwins ownership.”, said Jess Bell Jr., of Aspire Brands reported by Cleveland.com
Lip smacker lovers, there may still be hope, but many fear that Lip Smackers will be no more!
In the past four decades, Bonne Bell has released more than 800 Lip Smacker flavors in 50 countries.
Out of those 800 flavors, here is a list of my top ten lip smacker flavors.
