Mirjana Puhar, who recently appeared on the reality show America’s Next Top Model, was among three people murdered on Tuesday in Charlotte, North Carolina. Police have arrested and charged a suspect.
The murder occurred at the home of Puhar’s boyfriend, Jonathan Alvarado, 23. The other victims were Alvarado and his roommate, Jusmar Gonzaga-Garcia, 21.
A source told TMZ that a friend came into the home after hearing gunshots. The friend saw the bodies of Puhar, 19, and Alvarado and called police. She also saw money scattered around the home.
The investigation is ongoing and sources told TMZ that police believe that it may have been drug related. They believe the victims knew the killer.
According to The Charlotte Observer, Emmanuel Jesus Rangel, 19, has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder. He is also one of three people facing charges relating to another homicide at an area motel. Police are not sure if the two cases are connected.
Puhar was on ANTM last year and was born in Serbia. Her family emigrated to North Carolina 10 years ago.
