The battle to stop Cyberdyne Systems and Skynet won’t stop with this year’s Terminator Genisys. Paramount already has plans for two sequels and Arnold Schwarzenegger is sure that he will be back for at least one of those.
During an interview with Schwarzenegger fan site The Arnold Fans in Budapest, he said that he will be returning for the sixth movie in the Terminator franchise. When asked if he would be filming the movie, he replied, “Yes, of course, next year.”
Back in September, Paramount confirmed that Terminator 6 would be released on May 19, 2017. Another film was scheduled for June 29, 2018.
Genisys still has a few months to go before its release. It hits theaters on July 1 and trailers have tried to suggest that “everything has changed” in the franchise. True, the new movie does play with the continuity of the franchise’s first four films, but it still boils down to Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) needing to be saved from a dangerous Terminator to keep the Future War from happening.
The new film also stars Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke and Matt Smith. Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones, Thor: The Dark World) is directing.
