Beyoncé celebrates fifth Anniversary of 'Let's Move' with Instagram video

On Wednesday, February 25, Beyoncé posted a video on Instagram of a segment of her workout for the day in honor of Let’s Move. The caption “Celebrating the 5th anniversary of Let’s Move! #GimmeFive @michelleobama” relays her support for the healthy living movement.

February of 2010 marked the birth of First Lady, Michelle Obama’s campaign in efforts to eliminate child obesity through healthy living. In celebrating the organization’s fifth anniversary, Michelle Obama challenges the nation to give high fives when seeing someone making healthy life choices. Her efforts are now encompassed in the trending “#GimmeFive,” which social media users are posting in response to Obama’s challenge to give her five things you’re doing to eat better, stay active, and live an overall healthier life, according to Let’s Move.

Beyoncé first spread awareness for Let’s Move in April of 2011, when she surprised a group of middle school kids with a flash dance workout to a remix of her song with a new title of “Move Your Body.” It ended up turning into a music video promoted by Michelle Obama herself, who was grateful for the powerful pop icon’s efforts in spreading the campaign to young people, Huffington Post reports.

Mrs. Carter continues to stay active, which is demonstrated in her fast-forwarded Instagram video of her workout to “Flawless.” Maybe one day we’ll see Blue Ivy inspiring young people as her diva mom does in support of the anti-obesity campaign.
