Beyonce may be a Queen, but she’s still human, as evidenced by the unretouched photos of the singer from a 2013 L’Oreal campaign. However, while a similar leak of a Cindy Crawford photo drew praise, these pictures are causing a furor within the BeyHive.
The photos were initially published on a fansite called The Beyonce World on Wednesday. According to Gawker, the site posted a whopping 224 pictures from the L’Oreal campaign, which included both print and television ads.
After the photos leaked, fans were completely shocked, even though they aren’t completely awful. (It looks like she’s more of a victim of bad lighting than anything else.)
The Beyonce World has since pulled all of the photos, but not because they were sent a letter from Bey’s attorneys. Instead, the site doesn’t “want to cause any drama, nor do we wish to start fan wars.”
The statement from the site continued, “Some of the things we have seen posted were just horrible, and we don’t want any parts of it. We were just posting the photos to share the fact that our queen is naturally beautiful, at the same time she is just a regular woman.”
Of course, once you open a can of worms on the web, you can’t put them back inside. Complex posted several images and you can still find them on Twitter, as well.
This isn’t the first time that Beyonce has had an issue with retouched photos. In March 2013, she was reportedly angry to see H&M’s retouched photos in their campaign that year.

Leaks of unretouched photos are nothing new and are becoming quite common. Earlier this week, a Crawford photo surfaced, but fans were pleased to see how well she has aged.
