The marketing executives at Warner Bros. know exactly what the fans want to see with Magic Mike XXL. The first trailer for the stripping sequel hit the web today, and it promises to be yet another sensationally fun time at the movies.
Warner Bros. unveiled the promo early this morning. Even in a mere minute-and-a-half, it previews high choreographed dancing, techno music glore and steamy double entendres to boot. And this is just the green-band trailer.
Channing Tatum (who produces once again and also co-wrote the screenplay) stars alongside returning cast members Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash, Adam Rodriguez, and Gabriel Iglesias. Don't expect to see Matthew McConaughey or even Alex Pettyfer or Cody Horn this time around, though. It's unclear why the latter two are not returning, but ultimately those questions will be answered when the movie "comes" — the poster's joke, not my own — into theaters on July 1.
Meanwhile, some new faces also join this time around, including Amber Heard, whose seen briefly in this teaser, Elizabeth Banks, Jada Pinkett Smith, Donald Glover and Andie MacDowell. Taking over directing duties from Steven Soderbergh is Gregory Jacobs, who was the AD on the first film. Soderbergh is still around, however, this time as an editor, cinematographer and camera operator.
