The French satirical magazine released an issue one week after the offices in Paris were attacked by gunman last month and will now release its first edition since that “survivors” issue.
NBC News noted that Charlie Hebdo announced that more than 2 million copies of its latest edition will be available on newsstands Wednesday.
The new issue’s cover will feature a drawling of Pope Francis, a jihadi fighter, former president Nicolas Sarkozy and far-right politician Marine Le Pen, chasing a dog with a copy of the magazine in its jaws.
As previously reported, on Jan. 7, gunman stormed the magazine’s offices and killed 12 people including several of the publication’s cartoonist. The Kouachi brothers, who carried out the attack and were later shot by police, said they were taking revenge for the mag’s depictions of the Prophet Mohammed
One week later, the “survivors” issue had featured a cover cartoon drawling of the Prophet Mohammed with a tear in his eye, holding a "Je Suis Charlie" sign under the headline "All Is Forgiven.”
