There’s no question Drew Barrymore has had a colorful life, getting emancipated by her parents at the age of 15 and going to rehab as a young teen. She’s now writing her life story on paper, inking a memoir deal.
Barrymore, now happily married to Will Kopelman and a mother of two daughters; Olive, 2, and Frankie, 10 months, will publish a book that’s comprised of an autobiographical collection of essays.
The book will be about “living on her own at 14 (and how laundry may have saved her life), getting stuck in a gas station overhang on a cross country road trip, saying goodbye to her father in a way only he could have understood, and many more adventures and lessons that have led to the most important thing in her life, which is motherhood,” E! Online reports.
Barrymore wrote her first book about her life at the age of 16 with co-author Todd Gold called Little Girl Lost.
USA Today reports now that she’s 40, she’s reflecting on all the lead her up to this point in her life, including starting to drink alcohol at the age of 9 and taking up cocaine at 12.
“I love stories that are humorous, emotional and welcoming, and that is my goal in writing this book,” she said in a statement.
