Jane Fonda manages to defy age every passing year and the 77-year-old actress has shared a recreational pastime she indulges in every so often that could be a factor in that.
Fonda admitted to DuJour Magazine that she does “smoke pot every now and then,” but admits she will not see another movie after she’s smoked.
“I cannot see a movie on pot,” she said. “The number of movies I’ve seen thinking, ‘This is probably the best I have ever seen,’ and then I’ll see it again sober and think, What was I thinking?”
As for looking so good at her age, Fonda said she gets the question often but she’s always been honest about it.
“People always say, ‘Oh my god, how do you stay looking so blah blah blah,’” but, “I’ve had plastic surgery. I’ve talked about that. That doesn’t matter.”
She added, “What matters is realizing you can always get better. That you have to keep taking leaps of faith. It gets harder as you get older. You have to stay brave and keep trying to go beyond your comfort zone and see what you need to get to become who you’re supposed to be.”
Fonda will next star in the Netflix series Grace and Frankie with Lily Tomlin, which she thinks sends a good message to other women. It's about their husbands leaving them for each other after coming out of the closet.
“You so often see women in our media competing with each other. I like that [Grace and Frankie] is two women befriending each other. That’s very good for people to see,” she said.
