Jewish journalist captures anti-Semitic remarks, harassment on videotape while in Paris

Ever since a woman documented the sexual harassment she received on the streets of New York City and the video went viral, several copycat videos chronicling other appalling behavior have surfaced.

As BBC News noted, in the latest video, which was posted this weekend, Israeli journalist Zvika Klein said he borrowed the “10 hours in” format and videotaped the abuse he went through.

Klein wore a yarmulke and a tasseled prayer garment known as a tzitzi, and walked around the French capital city.

In the footage, people can be heard directing anti-Semitic remarks towards him as well as shouting some other not-so-nice things. One person can even been seen spitting at him.

As disgusting as this behavior is, it seems all the more sad given the recent Charlie Hebdo attacks that took place in the same city just last month. However, some critics of the video believe it is staged and others point out that to get the 10-hour footage down to a 1:23 clip, a ton of editing had to occur. Many even say that Klein deliberately chose mostly poor, Muslim-neighborhoods to walk around in.

His entire account of what he claimed happened during the walk can be read at NRG.
