This week, a family in Australia saw an odd sight when they went to get into their car – an adorable koala bear trying to drive away.
According to Time, a 15-year-old boy came home from school on Feb. 23 and found a koala hanging from his family’s steering wheel.
Sam Box and his family live on a sheep farm in Victoria and said the furry marsupial was clinging to the Land Rover parked in his driveway looking like he was “trying to drive.”
Box told 9news.com.au that the animal didn’t look afraid.
“It was checking him out as much as I was checking him out,” he said. “I opened the door and he just got out and walked away.”
According to the news site, the area where the Box family lives is known for its koala population.
“We see them a fair bit here but never in a car,” Box said.
Luckily this little thief got away with no charges pressed against him.
