Authorities in Philadelphia said a man in custody has been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of rapper Nicki Minaj’s tour manager.
According to WPVI, charges were filed against Pierce Boykin, 31, who was arrested on Monday. Boykin was initially brought in for questioning last week, but later released.
The station noted that he is now facing several charges including Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threats and Simple Assault.
As previously reported, Minaj announced via Twitter that De'Von Pickett, 29, was stabbed to death outside a Philadelphia bar.
Police said an altercation started inside Che Bar and Grill, then poured outside the establishment and eventually led to the stabbing of Pickett and 27-year-old Eric Parker.
Parker was critically injured and taken to a local hospital by some of the witnesses.
On Instagram, Minaj called the tragic incident a “senseless act of violence that took the life of a great guy.”
The men were in town for rehearsals of the star’s upcoming European tour.
