Former iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove is getting another shot at a broadcast series. She will star in a new comedy by Hot in Cleveland’s Suzanne Martin.
The news was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The pilot is still without a title, but centers on a multigenerational family, with two adult daughters being forced to move back in with their parents.
Cosgrove will play the younger doctor, who is an astrophysicist and is socially awkward.
James Burrows is directing the pilot and will executive produce with Martin and Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner of Hazy Mills. It is a Universal TV production.
This is Cosgrove’s second attempt at a pilot. In February 2013, she was cast in NBC’s Girlfriend in a Coma, which was supposed to star Christina Ricci. However, after Ricci dropped out a month later, NBC delayed the pilot and ended up just scrapping it altogether.
Cosgrove starred in iCarly and Drake & Josh for Nickelodeon.
