Oscars host Neil Patrick Harris tells Ellen DeGeneres her famous selfie is now a 'horrible dark cloud' over him (Video)

Neil Patrick Harris has a lot to live up to when it comes to hosting the Academy Awards on Sunday. He’s following up Ellen DeGeneres, who had one of the most memorable Oscars moments last year with her viral selfie.

During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week, the former How I Met Your Mother star told her the selfie is now a “horrible dark cloud over my head” because he has to try to beat it somehow.

"Your selfie shot was the most spectacular most successful thing, and it worked out so well,” he told her, asking "How do you beat the selfie that broke the Internet?"

He told her, "I'm gonna try and do something better I think.”

But DeGeneres insisted that she got lucky, that it was just a “fluke” and went much better than she ever expected.

"I'm finding good jokes that we had that are funny and strong, then I'll watch a late-night talk show and they'll say the same joke,” he laughed. “The Grammys, gah! Saturday Night Live, gah! I just want everyone to stop talking until Monday!"
