Taya Kyle attends Oscars in support of 'American Sniper,' carries Chris Kyle's dog tags

Chris Kyle’s widow, Taya Kyle, attended the Oscars in support of American Sniper on Sunday. She attended the biggest film event of the year with her sister.

Kyle, whose late husband is the subject of the Clint Eastwood-directed film, wore a strapless green gown but one accessory that was hard to miss was the deadliest sniper in U.S. history’s dog tags.

She’s been attending the trial for Chris’ accused killer, Eddie Ray Routh, in Texas.

"I wanted to support everyone who made this movie representing real veteran families, but I didn't think I had the energy to show up at the Oscars, let alone be presentable," she explained, Fox News reports.

"So, I find myself in a surreal position...like Cinderella who scrubs the floors but has a fairy Godmother (Warner Brothers) who got me on a plane and had a dress and jewelry and even the shoes and spanx waiting for me."

The trial was suspended for one day on Monday.

American Sniper was up for six awards, including Best Picture, but only won for Sound Editing.

Chris Kyle, who was played by Bradley Cooper, died in 2013 along with fellow veteran, Chad Littlefield. Taya has called the film a “blessing.”
