It's been nearly 15 years since Tom Hanks and his Cast Away co-star Wilson graced each other's company, but they got the very special chance to reunite Wednesday during the New York Rangers game at the Madison Square Garden stadium.
The Huffington Post reported on the reconnection between the two-time Academy Award-winner and the world's most famous volleyball. Last we saw them they — spoiler alert for Cast Away — were separated at sea as Hanks' character Chuck Noland paddled his way to freedom from the island that encapsulated him. Presumed to never see each other again, they now got to reconnect and watch as the Rangers' won the tight game against the Boston Bruins 3-2.
The footage of the reunion was caught on the Jumbotron during a break in the game, but thanks to the Rangers' Instagram account, the footage has made its way online.
To Hanks' credit, he plays this off well. Based on his initial expressions, it looks like he was not expecting this, and he participated well with the audience by giving them what they want and even joining them as they chant "Wilson." Oh course, he's more than likely just pleased to know that he can, once again, see the man whom he shares a nomination for Best On-Screen Team with from the MTV Movie Awards 2001.
