The first trailer for Brad Bird’s Tomorrowland kept most of his futuristic world a secret, but last night’s 30-second Super Bowl spot showed off much more.
In the film, Britt Robertson (Under the Dome) plays a young girl who is given a mysterious pin, which transports her to a future with a magical city that looks a heck of a lot like the Tomorrowland in Disney parks. The only one who can help her understand what this new place is is a scientist played by George Clooney. Other members of the cast include Judy Greer, Kathryn Hahn and Hugh Laurie.
Unlike the October 2014 trailer, this new one squeezed in a few scenes of Tomorrowland itself. We get to see a giant rocket, flying jetpacks and speeding trains.
Tomorrowland is scheduled to reach theaters on May 22. It was written by Bird, Damon Lindelof and Entertainment Weekly writer Jeff Jensen.
