Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom one-day tickets pass $100 mark

As if it wasn’t expensive already, it’s getting even more costly to go to the happiest place on earth for just a day. That’s right. Walt Disney World is raising ticket prices again, passing the $100 mark for a one-day ticket to the main Magic Kingdom park.

A year ago, prices were raised to $99 for adults and $93 for children ages 3 to 9. Tickets for the other three parks - EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom - were raised to $94 for adults and $88 for children.

Now, it’s going to cost even more. One -day tickets for Magic Kingdom are now at $105 for adults and $99 for children. The other three parks now cost $97 for adults and $91 for children.

If you live closer to the West Coast and plan on going to Disneyland, you will also have to pay more. Bloomberg reports that one-day tickets for Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are now $99 for adults.

“We continually add new offerings and experiences, and many of our guests select multi-day tickets or annual passes, which provide a great value and additional savings,” spokeswoman Jacquee Wahler said on Sunday.

While Disney could probably charge anything they wanted and people would still travel to Orlando or Anaheim to visit the parks, at least the company is making changes to the parks as they raise prices. In the past five years, the company has spent $8 billion on new additions to the parks. Magic Kingdom’s Fantasy Land has been significantly overhauled and Cars Land has been added at California Adventure.
