Zack Snyder reveals first look at Jason Momoa’s Aquaman

Say goodbye to the green pants and orange shirt. Zack Snyder’s Aquaman is going to look very different from the character’s iconic appearance. The director unveiled the first picture of Jason Momoa as the DC Comics superhero on Twitter last night.

The image shows Momoa wearing scaled armor on his arms, with a sash over his chest. He has long hair, replacing Aquaman’s typical blond ‘do. He’s also clutching a trident.

Snyder added, “There is only one true King.” The picture also carries the slogan “Unite the Seven.” That’s probably in reference to the number of heroes who will make up the movie version of the Justice League.

Momoa, who is best known for his role on season one of Game of Thrones, joined the DC universe in June 2014. He is expected to make his debut in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which opens on March 15, 2016. He will also star in a solo movie that will be released in 2018.

Dawn of Justice is expected to introduce a bunch of other heroes in order to lead up to Snyder’s 2017 Justice League movie. Gal Gadot will also make her first appearance as Wonder Woman in the 2016 film.
